Unfortunately this is something that’s relatively common in Honduras, afterall this is the ‘World’s murder capital’, but when it’s someone with more fame, such as Arnold Peralta, it makes it all the more shocking doesn’t it in some ways?

The former Rangers player, who left in January, was shot dead while on holiday in his hometown of La Ceiba on Friday with Peralta killed at the age of just 26! Tributes were paid to the midfielder before, during and after the weekend.

Rangers made it clear ahead of the draw with Morton that a minute silence would be held in his honour.

‘The club will pay its respects with a minute’s silence before tomorrow’s game against Morton. The players will also wear black armbands in his honour.’

Obviously, as everyone was, the club also said they were ‘deeply shocked and saddened’ by his murder with the thoughts of all connected to the club going out to his friends and family.

That tribute was observed brilliantly at Ibrox on Saturday, as you would expect!

During his 18-months with Rangers he helped the Gers to the Scottish League One title and represented his country Honduras on numerous occasions.

All on Vital Gers echo the thoughts of the club, RIP Arnold Peralta.
