According to Football Insider, Rangers are closing in on securing a deal for Allan McGregor as they look to extend his stay at the club past the end of the season.
The goalkeeper has been back at the club for a couple of seasons now and under Steven Gerrard he has been the number one at the club by a mile.
Wes Foderingham has had to bide his time and he’s no mug, so it’s clear that McGregor has been doing something right.
He’s in his late 30s but is showing no sign of stopping up any time soon and Rangers apparently want to offer him a pay-rise as well as a longer stay at Ibrox.
Certainly, you can see why that’s the case and I think as fans we will be pleased to see this news go through.
He’s matured no-end in his career and has become one of the top stoppers in Scotland so there’s no need to change.
