Report: Sky Sports reveal McAllister £4m signing hint for Rangers

|

Rangers assistant manager, Gary McAllister, has dropped the biggest hint yet that the Ibrox club are already planning on turning the loan signing of Ianis Hagi into a permanent one according to a report on Sky Sports.

Speaking as part of the club’s pre-match press conference ahead of the trip to Perth to face St Johnstone, Gerrard’s right hand man said of the Romanian’s impressive start:

“If the lad keeps performing, It’s something we will have to look at.”

“The manager (Steven Gerrard) has the final say but he has impressed all of us so far. We just want to keep this young man going, keep his confidence high and keep encouraging him to do the things he is good at.”

“If you’re a player last night [against Braga], scoring a couple goals in front of 50-odd thousand fans who are singing your name… I think he is enjoying it!”

Has Hagi Impressed You Yet?

Stupid Question, Yes

Stupid Question, Yes

Rangers made the sensational swoop for Hagi late in the January window and look to be getting their money’s worth already, not only has he got 3 goals and 1 assist but in the match against Braga alone he created three chances for Alfredo Morelos.

The agreement with Genk looks to be a favourable one as the Gers have an exclusive deal whereby they get first refusal at a fixed price of £4m – a deal that could be made sooner rather than later if his current form continues.

Hagi’s arrival and form could be too little, too late with regards to the Scottish Premiership but there is still the Scottish Cup and the Europa League that could bring much needed success to the Ibrox faithful.
