Vital Rangers round up of games played so far this month starts with the visit of Hibernian to Ibrox.

It was a great start to the month for Rangers, a 1-0 victory over Hibs at Ibrox put the gap between them and Celtic to double figures. Celtic played on Sunday away to Hearts with the chance to pull it back but Hearts beat them to help Rangers maintain their cushion.

Rangers were without the suspended Steven Naismith for this one, he was replaced by American midfielder Bedoya. It was a fairly settled looking team apart from that. It was McGregor in goals, a back four of Papac, Goian, Bocanegra and Whittaker. Wylde, Edu, Davis and Bedoya in midfield, and Lafferty and Jelavic up front.

It was a hard fought first half with no goals. Gregg Wylde had two decent chances, one saved by stack and the other put over the bar. Rangers were awareded a penalty in the 45th minute. Ex Hibs player Steven Whittaker stepped up to take it and blasted it over the bar. Jamie Ness made his return from injury as a half-time substitute for Bedoya.

Rangers got their goal in 68th minute. Gregg Wylde, so often the provider this season was the provider here again crossing in for Kyle Lafferty who converted from six yards with the greatest of ease. Rangers also had two goals chopped off for offside.
