After a poor performance away to Berwick Rangers in the league last weekend, Rangers needed a big performance in this league cup game against Falkirk, a team two divisions above them and who we beat last week in the Ramsden Cup. Thankfully, we DID get a better performance and a 3-0 victory.

Two of Rangers’ prolific scorers Lee McCulloch and Andy Little were again the goalscorers. McCulloch headed Rangers into the lead in the 18th minute before Andy Little extended Rangers’ lead after a superb pass by the returning Dean Shiels. McCulloch got his second and Rangers third of the game seven minutes into the second half with a composed finish.

Rangers progress to the third round draw where they could face some of their old SPL foes such as Celtic, Hearts or Aberdeen.
