Rangers travelled to Falkirk to face the Bairns in the first of two cup games we have against them. Next week we face them in the second round of the League Cup but this week it was second round tie in the Ramsden Cup.

Rangers were out for revenge against a team which put them out of the League Cup last season. Rangers fans also had various grievances against the club, but this would be no easy game, Falkirk of course are now TWO divisions above us in the Scottish Football League.

It was a closely fought contest but a goal in the stroke of half-time from in form man Andy Little was enough to seal victory for the light blues who are still unbeaten this season in all competitions. The reward for victory was a home tie against Queen Of The South in the quarter-finals of the competition.

The full draw for the Ramsden League Challenge Cup quarter-final was:

Partick Thistle vs Raith Rovers
East Stirlingshire vs Cowdenbeath
Rangers vs Queen Of The South
Arbroath vs Stenhousemuir

Games are due to be played on Sunday 9th September 2012.
