Another almost sell out crowd watched their heroes beat Elgin City 5-1 at Ibrox, but Rangers again went a goal down before they sprung into action. The away form may be poor but Rangers are scoring for fun at home.

Rangers latest signing David Templeton made his debut after signing on deadline day. A couple of nights previously he had been playing at Anfield for Hearts against Liverpool in a Europa League play-off, where he had given Hearts a shock lead only for Luis Suarez to save Liverpool’s blushes.

Templeton got off to a dream start for his new club scoring two goals. Dean Shiels had scored Rangers equaliser after 24 minutes before Templeton got the first of his two goals five minutes later. Skipper Lee McCulloch who is in fine goal scoring form this season made it 3-1 on the stroke of half-time.

Templeton got that second goal four minutes into the second half before Jig got his second and Rangers’ fifth ten minutes later and that rounded off the scoring for the day.
