It was another goal fest again in an away game for Rangers, an eight goal thriller as Rangers beat their hosts 6-2. Elgin City twice came back from behind before Rangers ran away with it and it was a thrashing in the end.

Andy Little opened the scoring in the 5th minute after rounding the keeper and squeezing the ball into the net. Moore then equalised for Elgin with a superb shot from 20 yards. Elgin were only level for six minutes, Little got his and Rangers second in the 24th minute when he tapped in from Templeton’s cross.

Elgin however, much like a lot of the third division teams showed great spirit and were not ready to give up. Rangers gave away a free-kick away about 25 yards from goal and the free-kick was converted brilliantly by Nicolson giving Alexander no chance. rangers restored their lead again however before the first half had finished, Lee McCulloch back up front sent one in off the crossbar to make it 3-2 to the Gers.

Rangers never looked back after that and it turned into a romp. McCulloch got his second in the 60th minute, then four minutes later the impressive MacLeod got in on the act before Hutton rounded off the scoring in the 83rd minute with a long range effort. Neil Alexander even had time to make his second penalty save of the week before the match ended.
