Just a brief look back at last week’s 1-0 victory over Dundee United at Tannadice which kept Rangers at the top of the table.

Dundee United were at a disadvantage when Johnny Russell was sent off after a spat with Kirk Broadfoot. Both players came head to head after Russell had fouled Broadfoot. Russell then made a forward movement with his head, and even though it was just a light touch, it was enough for the referee to show the player the red card.

With one man extra, Rangers took advantage of it in the 61st minute when Kyle Lafferty headed a Gregg Wylde cross home from close range. Rangers then were unlucky not to go two up when Steven Davis’ effort somehow stayed out after hitting BOTH posts.

Rangers held on for their FIFTH win on the trot after having drawn the opening game at Ibrox against Hearts back in July. It was also the FIFTH consecutive clean sheet and it’s great form to take into the first old firm game which takes place tomorrow. Preview of that one coming up soon.

This game also seen new Australian midfielder Matt McKay make his debut as a second half substitute. He came on in the 83rd minute to replace young Gregg Wylde.
