Report details full cost of Rangers star’s weekend stupidity

|

Rangers goalkeeper Allan McGregor could receive a four-match suspension for kicking out at Hibernian opponent Marc McNulty on Sunday, according to The Daily Record.

The veteran shot-stopper will miss our last two matches against Celtic and Kilmarnock, with the paper believing that punishment could be doubled considering the nature of the offence.

It almost certainly means that number two goalkeeper Wes Foderingham will come into the team and he hasn’t featured for close to three months.

Making six appearances in total this season, he has nowhere near the quality of shot-stopping that McGregor is capable of and ahead of an Old Firm derby could be seen as a weakness in the team.

Unfortunately discipline is a real problem in Steven Gerrard’s squad right now, with 12 red cards received by the team this season.

It’s something he needs to fix ahead of the new campaign or we could be facing another trophy-less season.
