The last home game of a really long 2012 was a derby match against Clyde. Although in the strips Clyde turned up in it looked more like Dundee United. Maybe they were trying to wind us up? If they were then it didn’t work as Rangers won 3-0.

Lee McCulloch had a chance to opening the scoring early on after latching on to an Andy Little throw in and testing the keeper from a tight angle at the edge of the box. Rangers did open the scoring though in the 21st minute after Lee Wallace was put through by David Templeton and the full back slid the ball under the Clyde goalkeeper.

Rangers got their second in the 38th minute and it was one of the best goals you will ever see. David Templeton curled the ball round the keeper from just outside the box after a superb sequence of passing by Rangers.

McCulloch looked to have given Rangers a third after he scored from close range but the goal was chopped off for offside. The first half ended 2-0. Dean Shiels got Rangers’ third in the 76th minute of the game. He beat his man inside the box before firing low into the net for his tenth goal of the season.

So Rangers ended their last home game on a high after some tough times at Ibrox this season. It ended Rangers 3 Clyde 0.
