Rangers want 17-cap international to replace departing player this summer

|

Rangers have been linked with a move for Norwich City central defender Timm Klose, as reported by Football Scotland.

The outlet say the 30-year-old is out of contract at Carrow Road come the end of the season and that Steven Gerrard is keen on adding the player to his first-team squad.

With Joe Worrall heading back to parent club Nottingham Forest at the end of the season and Gareth McAuley’s contract expiring, we badly need defensive reinforcements in the upcoming transfer window and Klose would appear to fit the bill.

He’s a player with excellent Bundesliga, Premier League and Championship experience, making hundreds of professional appearances throughout his career.

The former Wolfsburg man is also a 17-cap international with Switzerland.

This season he’s made 33 appearances for the Canaries, helping them win automatic promotion from the English second-tier.

It’s not often players like him become available to Rangers on a free transfer basis and we’d be mad not to try and capture his signing given the boxes he ticks for us.

Hopefully this is one transfer rumour that develops into something a bit more substantial.
