And now, the end is near, and so we’ve reached….trophy day!

Ten years in the making, but the day is finally upon us, however, there is the small matter of Aberdeen to take care of first but unlike 30 years ago when the very title was at stake, they have nothing to play for at all.

How this will affect the way they set up and play on the day is anyone’s guess, they have loads of players out of contract and a new manager in place, this is, of course, the first time we’ve played them since Stephen Glass took over and we have no real idea what to expect – I can safely say the won’t be as negative as Derek McInnes’s side though.

Steven Gerrard had a mixture of good and bad injury news, Scott Arfield has trained again without any worries so I’d expect to see him in the squad, however, Borna Barisic won’t make it so, this is the team I’d expect us to go with as we attempt to complete an invincible league campaign:

Basically, it’s the same as Livingston except Allan McGregor comes back into the team, Gerrard isn’t usually one for sentiment and, even if Jon McLaughlin was outstanding, there is little chance of Steve Clarke promoting him to first choice for Scotland, despite being the best keeper available for his country.

Joe Aribo was outstanding deputising for Barisic and will continue which leaves a decision to be made in midfield and the front three.

The only question is about what shape we will go with as this will have a bearing on selection, 4-2-3-1 and Scott Wright will probably play, 4-3-3 and it will be Kemar Roofe, I see no reason to change from the last couple of weeks but – as with Livi – if we can get in front I’d expect the gaffer to ring the changes to get as many players on the park as possible for what is sure to be a momentous occasion – just make sure you get the three points please boys.
