Rangers TV are about to launch a special programme to celebrate the goalscoring achievements of Alfredo Morelos.

The Colombian has the honour of joining the ‘100 club’ at Ibrox, alongside some very illustrious company with names such as McCoist, Hateley, Stein and Johnstone to name but a few.

It was a moment of joy, passion and relief as Morelos pounced to get on the end of a James Tavernier cross to put Rangers into the lead in Paisley, earlier today.

That goal was to be the last of the game as the vistors got a stranglehold on the game and saw it through to get all three points and return to the summit of the Premiership table.

What an achievement for Alfredo Morelos, with the landmark strike coming in his 199th game for the club.

A record of almost one goal every two games is a fine return for the Colombian international whose first goals for Rangers came in a League Cup tie against Dunfermline in 2017.

His strike against St Mirren was his sixth goal of the season, across all competitions and there is definitely more to come.

Previously, there have been dips in form for the man signed from HJK Helsinki and it should be expected that the 200th goal will spark a new found confidence and better application from Morelos.

In recent weeks, there has been an element of awkwardness in his all-round play but ‘El Bufalo’ must now renew his focus and believe in his significant ability.

Following the winner against Hibs, another winning contribution today can be the springboard to a period of significant impact and more goals, in what has been a stop-start season so far.

All Rangers supporters and especially Steven Gerrard know just how dangerous Alfredo Morelos can be, if he can return to his impressive best over the coming weeks as the focal point of the attack, it can fire the champions to that elusive next level and inspire his teammates to even greater heights.
