Michael Beale has been open about Rangers transfers ever since he arrived, if anything, he has been too open, especially in the last few weeks.

No sooner had the window opened than it looked as though we would be making additions, the Gers gaffer confident that he was about to get additional re-enforcements.

Beale has hinted that there a players that we are talking to that haven’t had their names released to the media with Nicolas Raskin and Morgan Whittaker the two that seem to be closer to completion but Football Insider has claimed that a bid for the latter is still being considered:

“Rangers have agreed personal terms with Morgan Whittaker but their latest bid has been rejected.

“The Glasgow giants have upped their offer for the Swansea City star to £2million after previous bids of £1.5m and £1m were knocked back.

“But Swansea have still refused to buckle as Rangers’ battle to get the deal over the line looks set to go down to the wire this month.”

Against St Johnstone, Rangers brought on an entirely different front four which suggests that there isn’t a desperate need to bring Whittaker in, however, if he continues his current rate of development, he could soon be out of our price range.

There will be departures in the summer so, it may be that Ross Wilson and Beale are taking every opportunity to sign possible targets now, rather than wait, it makes sense to get them in early so that they can adapt to the pressure of having to win every game, style of play and methods of the manager.

With just a couple of days of the window left though, they will have to move fast.

  • William Laing says:

Whittaker is under contract so Rangers can`t legally agree terms with him until Swansea give permission for us to talk to him. So, if we haven`t agreed a fee then we won`t have agreed terms with him unless we`ve done it illegally and then we would be keeping it very quiet . There is no way we should be paying £2million plus for a player who has only done it in the First Division .Time to walk away while there is still time to go elsewhere before the window shuts .

If you want our player pay the money that’s asked your by far the bigger club in Scotland and surely can afford the asking price we all like a bargain but this kid is a serious baller. Up the Gers and Up the Jacks.

    Walk away rangers

  • John Jubal says:

3 million is what Swansea City wants for the player and they won’t accept a dim less. They know how good Whittaker is and the protentional he has! The Swans don’t need the money as the club is well run and it’s possible they might want to keep him as we need a striker! The Swans are on a win, win situation in that they’ll get what they are asking to buy a replacement or they can keep him because he can do the business for the club! Rangers know how good he can become and as you said, at the end of the season he could well be out of Rangers price range!

  • Rees says:

How can you agree personal terms with a player contracted to another team?.

  • B Love says:

Why is it every Rangers target seems to be difficult to get to come to IBROX when that lot across the city don’t get problems on signing players.

Why did Rangers who were the first team to be drawn in the semi final of the cup have to play at Hampden after that lot across the city?
