Job done – Gers fans need to wait for more new faces

And now we wait.

The Rangers squad was already looking pretty strong, winter acquisitions have settled in and there doesn’t appear to be anyone with an immediate desire to leave – even the furore surrounding Ianis Hagi not going to the Olympics has settled down pretty quickly.

But now, with the additions of Fashion Sakala and John Lundstram, there is an even greater strength in depth, something that played a key role in ensuring we could cope without the likes of Kemar Roofe, Alfredo Morelos, Joe Aribo, Ryan Jack, Scott Arfield and many others as they picked up knocks and suspensions throughout the title winning campaign.

Lundstram is just another level in terms of quality. There is little chance, if he was still under contract, that we would be able to afford such a player.

It’s an encouraging sign, rather than waiting until the last minute, it would appear that Ross Wilson is doing the ground work early when approaching potential pre-contract deals. Now, there’s a difference between identifying whether or not a player would be interested in signing for you and tapping one up and I’m certainly not suggesting the latter.

Which brings me to my opening line.

We don’t have room or need any other additions to the squad. You might want an attacking central midfielder or another striker, but we simply don’t need them.

How many players do Rangers have at the Euros this summer?

When we look at how our sporting director has operated since arriving from Southampton we needn’t worry if bids for Glen Kamara or Alfredo Morelos do land on his desk, you just know he’s already got the their replacements lined up.
