Glen Kamara’s performances in the European Championships have been hugely impressive, however, we all know what this means, he is unlikely to wear the Light Blue shirt of Rangers again.

The Finland international, given his profile and origins in the Arsenal academy, has always been one of our players most likely to attract attention this summer and head down south to the riches of the Premier League, the way that he has taken his domestic form onto the biggest stage only underlying his ability to mix it with the very best.

With this in mind, and despite Nnamdi Ofoborh already being signed up, a player capable of playing as a number 6 and a number 8 remains a priority for Rangers and a move for one potential should be accelerated after recent news from his club.

How many players do Rangers have at the Euros this summer?

Salih Ozcan, who plays for Bundesliga side Koln, was recently linked with the Ibrox side and the German Under-21 international should be near the top of Ross Wilson’s list of potential replacements, the £3.15million rated midfielder – capable of playing anywhere in the centre of the park – is approaching the end of his contract, however, his club remain optimistic of retaining his services, as reported by Kicker via bulinews.com:

“After some consultations with the coach, we can envision a solid role for Salih in the team. We’re exchanging views on whether or not there can be a mutual future together.”

Hopefully the “Gerrard effect” and Champions League football is enough to persuade him to head to the Scottish Premiership, it might not be the Bundesliga but as Kamara has shown, there is no reason why it still can’t be a stepping stone to a “bigger” stage.
