Rangers “odds-on” favourites to sign £3.5m rated Premier League international

|

Rangers are now clear favourites to sign former Arsenal midfielder, Jack Wilshere, with an article in The Sun claiming that the championship leaders are odds-on to secure his signature.

Having been without a club since October, the 28-year old has been keeping himself fit and recently posted footage of himself in action across in Dubai, a location that still sends shivers down the spine of every Bluenose.

The potential deal has never been ruled out by either party and the player recently fueled the fires of speculation by revealing that he is looking for a team that is challenging for titles and plays attacking football:

“I’m open to MLS, Europe anything with the right manager.

“At Bournemouth they had a manager who wanted to try and play and I had a really good year there. When I went to West Ham, I didn’t know it was going to be how it was.

“When there is a relegation battle, teams want to nick a point and stay up, nick a goal and try and defend. That’s not the type of player I am.

“With my experience now, I’d be silly to go and sign for a team who are in a similar position to West Ham.”

The Sun reported that the odds for his next club are:

  • Rangers – 4/9
  • Any MLS club – 13/5
  • Aston Villa – 6/1
  • Fulham – 14/1
  • Arsenal – 14/1
  • Reading – 19/1
  • Bournemouth – 25/1
  • Celtic – 33/1

How many senior players did Rangers sign this summer?

The bookies don’t always get it right of course and Old Firm moves for Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Robin van Persie have also been “done deals” in the past but this one is refusing to go away and, despite not playing much football over the last couple of seasons, the 34-cap international is still valued at over £3.5million on Transfermarkt – his quality is not up for debate, his ability to play 20-30 games a season, unfortunately, is.
