If the reports suggesting Rangers move for Antonio Colak are accurate then it won’t be long until the Croatian international follows the likes of Dado Prso and Nikica Jelavic in leading the line for the club.

The 28-year old striker is said to have been the subject of a €1.8million bid, and it looks as though we aren’t far away in terms of what will be needed, as claimed by Greek journalist Georgios Sideridis:

To give an idea of how much of a bargain this would be @PenaCartel on Twitter provided a snapshot of his output when playing outside of Greece for a decent team.

As Vital Rangers has already pointed out, it’s worth ignoring his record at PAOK because, if a striker is averaging just over one shot per game then it suggests that there is an issue with creativity rather than the quality of the striker, especially if they are hitting the expected goals figure.

Colak has nearly 200 goals and assists in 350 career games, for the fee suggested, this is a bargain and the perfect example of how to fill the back up striker role. You know that he is good enough when called up but he isn’t costing you a fortune in either transfer fee or wages.

After seeing what he did to Connor Goldson and Leon Balogun at Ibrox, I would never have thought that, with his record, he would be available for such a small fee and a deal that would be a great way to kick start our transfer window.
