Rangers tipped for sticking point as they look to sort deal for attacker

|

Rangers will be looking to address the size of their squad in the coming weeks as it is safe to say that it has got a little bloated.

We cannot complain, of course, as it needed bolstering and Steven Gerrard has done a fine job in terms of the footballers that he has managed to bring in.

However, it is clear that not all of them are going to play much next season and some need to be moved on in order to keep squad harmony at a decent level.

Kyle Lafferty appears to be one that is surplus to requirements, then, and, according to Jackie McNamara, it could be tough to shift him on.

Indeed, as Rangers look to sort an exit for him, the pundit has told Football Insider that his wages could make it hard for the Gers to find a potential suitor.

He said:

“I think he’ll want to play. He’s been used to playing over the last number of years and I think he’ll do that but it would only happen if he goes somewhere else.

“(It will have to be somewhere) that will match what he’s on. That’s the difficulty they have.”

I’m sure someone could surely afford him this window and, at the end of the day, he’ll want to play.
