Social media is a minefield when trying to negotiate who to believe and who to ignore when it comes to transfer rumours, however, there are a few individuals who can be trusted to be accurate for all things connected to Rangers.

The Atheltic’s Jordan Campbell has decent connections in the fan media world and at the club and has given an update on potential signings for the immediate future.

Campbell explains where we are with each player and that it is encouraging news in our hunt for centre-half cover, for all that Connor Goldson is the obvious player that we are looking to replace, I still think he would extend his deal if we won the league and qualified for the Champions League, with Calvin Bassey imposing himself in Leon Balogun and Filip Helander’s absence it could well be that the veteran Nigerian moves on and doesn’t get his contract renewed.

Andreas Skov Olsen is always going to be the sort of target that will need a lot of things to go in our favour, nobody is expecting us to pick him up for a couple of million, Ross Wilson and Giovanni van Bronckhorst would have to be at their persuasive best to get both the player and Bologna to sign off on a deal that suits all parties.

As always, nothing is confirmed until they are standing in front of the “Welcome to Ibrox” sign or have been filmed meeting Jimmy Bell, in the meantime, try not to get too excited by potential hoaxers!
