Rangers summer option in talks with another club – Allen will need to move quick if we want him

|

Rangers transfer target Graeme Shinnie could be on the way to Derby County this summer after BBC Scotland reported today he was in discussions with the English Championship outfit.

The outlet say that Derby boss Frank Lampard watched the player in action against Motherwell recently and has invited him south for discussions about his future, with his current deal at Pittodrie expiring at the end of the season.

As reported by The Scottish Sun last month, Rangers were linked with a move for the player.

However, if we are to truly make a play for the player then Director of Football Mark Allen will need to move quickly and offer the Scotland international an alternative option.

Shinnie is free to talk to what ever club he likes and Derby are unlikely to be his only suitors.

Is he a viable option in the Rangers midfield? That’s up for debate, but with players like Lassana Coulibaly probably heading back to his parent club and Graham Dorrans missing in action, then we could do worse as a back-up option.

Do you think Rangers should make a move for Shinnie ahead of the summer? Have your say in the comments below…
