The champions roared back to the top of the SPL with a fine win over Kilmarnock at Ibrox.

The Light Blues looked threatening from the off, showing off some decent passing moves and after a fine through ball from Kevin Thomson, Boyd found himself unmarked to give Rangers the lead with a trademark finish.

Kenny Miller doubled Rangers tally and continued his recent impressive form when he slotted home on 24 shortly after Kevin Kyle forced a fine save from Allan McGregor with a long-range effort, before a fine move resulted in Steven Whittaker squeezing home the third at the second time of asking ten minutes before the break.

A combination of fine goalkeeping at either end and the idiocy of Kyle Lafferty prevented further goals in a somewhat underwhelming second half.

Rangers will be pleased with the win, however. The way we started the game will be particularly pleasing.
