Vital Rangers are having a good month, how’s yours going?

Prior to the January window opening we wanted to keep a hold of our key players and add depth in centre-half and at right-wing whilst moving on the dead wood – Nathan Patterson’s £16million move to Everton should take care of item number one on the agenda.

So far, it looks like we will see fringe players like Jack Simpson and maybe even John Lundstram moving on whilst we remain favourites to sign John Souttar and Danilho Doekhi, the number of wingers we have been linked with suggests at least one of them will be signing – surely…?

The other wish was to see Cedric Itten return from his loan spell at Greuther Furth, the struggling Bundesliga side not getting the best out of our Switzerland international plus, our own circumstances have changed to the extent that the £3m signing has a serious chance to make an impact during the second half of the season.

Fashion Sakala looks like he will be deployed in more of a wide forward role under Giovanni van Bronckhorst which leaves us short through the middle when Kemar Roofe is injured, Itten thrives on service in the box and link up play with team-mates in the final third – not playing on the wing where he doesn’t get the opportunity to get on the end of chances.

From which country does Dundee United keeper Benjamin Siegrist come from?

Itten , like Lundstram to a certain extent, has been judged before he has been able to show what he can really do, it takes time to get used to a new system and team-mates, it’s even harder when you are getting played out of position.

Hopefully we get to see Ced the Ted having the opportunity to play in the position that he excelled in before we signed him, keep him the width of the goals and he won’t let us down.
