Rangers still interested in £3.15m-rated playmaker despite silence since January

|

Rangers are still interested in signing Wigan Athletic midfielder Nick Powell ahead of the summer transfer window, according to website TEAMtalk.

The outlet reckon the Gers one of a number of teams keen on a summer move for the player, with his current contract at the English Championship side due to expire at the end of the season.

You may remember that The Scottish Sun reported back in January that we were keen on the 25-year-old, battling with rivals Celtic for his signature.

There’s been silence since then, but TEAMtalk say his next move is likely to be to a British club, despite interest from German and Turkish top-flight sides.

Bringing him to Ibrox would be something of a coup considering the teams eager to sign him, but perhaps the lure of working under Steven Gerrard and being a potential mainstay in the Gers first-team could be enough to convince him his future lies in Glasgow.

With 40 goals and 18 assists in 135 appearances for Wigan, the Man United academy graduate could end up making quite the impact if we give him the opportunity.
