Rangers defender Connor Goldson has warned his teammates that if they can’t handle the pressure of playing for the club then Ibrox isn’t for them, as reported by The Daily Record.

Goldson has already played a massive 48 times for Rangers since joining from Brighton & Hove Albion last summer and despite some shaky recent form has been one of the most celebrated arrivals at the club in the Steven Gerrard era.

He believes his entire mindset is changing having made the move to Ibrox, realising that there is an expectation the club win basically every match.

The defender has now warned his teammates if they cannot adapt to that pressure then it might be time to hit the road.

As quoted by The Daily Record, the 26-year-old said:

My psychology is a lot different. The club I was playing for down south were trying to avoid relegation.

This one wants to win everything we’re involved in. I don’t go back after a draw thinking it’s a good result. I’ve bought straight into the mentality here that you need to win every game and if you don’t you’ll come under criticism.

That’s the thing you have to accept, playing for a big club. We’ve all signed here wanting to be a part of this club and a part of the success it brings.

So it’s up to us and the coaches to bring that here. If you’re not up for that or can’t handle the criticism, then it’s not for you.

We’ve got a team in there. We just need to stop the bumps if we want to be successful.

Supporters will be looking for Goldson to improve on his recent form in the coming weeks, with many feeling there’s been a serious dip in his all-round game, although that can be said for most of the first-team right now.

Hopefully Gerrard can find a way to fill his team with confidence again ahead of the upcoming derby at Celtic Park.

If we’re to get anything from that one then players like Goldson will be at the heart of it.

Do enough of his teammates now share his new winning mentality though?
