Rangers Centre-Half Madjid Bougherra has confirmed to The Metro, The Record and The Scottish Sun amongst others that he’s going NO-WHERE in January.
In what will be a huge blow to the asset-stripping plans of Lloyds TSB, Bougherra has joined Kris Boyd in blocking a bank-mandated transfer away from Ibrox, only the Algerian has done so before any move is put before him.
Bougherra has been a revelation since arriving from Charlton for £2.5 million in the summer of 2008, and has developed a fine partnership with stalwart Davie Weir. The Algerian was linked with a move to Bordeuax in the summer which failed to materialise.
This looks to be a huge boost, but he does hint that he will ‘see out the season’ at Rangers, making it sound inevitable that he will move on in the summer.
