Rangers star makes promise to fans that will raise spirits after draw

|

Rangers defender Joe Worrall has promised to continue taking the Scottish Premiership title fight to Celtic, despite currently behind eight points behind the Hoops in the table, as reported by The Scottish Sun.

Many have written off the Gers’ chances of challenging for a league trophy this season with just 10 matches remaining until the Scottish top-flight concludes, but Worrall believes there’s still every chance of pushing the Hoops close.

As quoted by The Scottish Sun, the defender explained:

It is important that we stay in this cup competition for as long as we can and continue to pick up wins so we can keep the momentum going.

Let’s not kid ourselves, the league is not over yet.

There are still games to come. We’ve to play Celtic twice and there are points there to be won and lost.

We want to keep that momentum going.

Given we beat Celtic in the last match between the two sides, anyone thinking we cannot seriously eat into the lead of Neil Lennon’s side is deluded.

A lot can change quickly in football, especially Scottish football, and Celtic have some very tricky fixtures coming up including the visit of today’s foes Aberdeen, who again showed they are no pushovers.

Worrall was clearly on a high after his goal against the Dons, but if he thinks that Rangers still have a chance on two fronts this season then fair play to him and his attitude.

It’s not over until it’s over.
