The final league fixture of what has been a frustrating opening to the season will only be warmly met with three points, anything less, and the sweeping changes that many have been predicting since last campaign might well become reality.

It seems to be one in, one out, in the treatment room just now, however, there has been a double blow with the news that both Fashion Sakala and Antonio Colak are set to miss out against St Mirren, however, Ryan Jack is expected to return to the squad – not that he can play on the wing or up front that is. The forwards have suffered nothing sinister though and will return to training shortly.

With the players that Giovanni van Bronckhorst has left, this is who I think he should go with for the trip to Paisley:

We looked better when we had a more attacking midfield so, I’d expect Glen Kamara or Scott Arfield to come in from the start with James Sands dropping into defence if he is fit, however, it wouldn’t surprise me if Leon King retains his place.

In attack, Rabbi Matondo couldn’t do anything right in mid-week whereas Scott Wright made an instant impact, as has been the trend, which probably means that the latter will play.

Seeing as he is the only fit striker, Alfredo Morelos will get his chance to prove that he is still number one although, it would be nice if he brings his shooting boots with him. His all-round game has looked pretty solid but he needs to start taking his chances to force Colak out of the team – it wouldn’t be a bad time for him to discover his goal-scoring form and lift the mood around the club, if only for a short while.
