Away games in the Scottish Premiership come down to one thing – get the three points, then get back down/up the road.

Historically St Johnstone may not have caused Rangers many problems in the past, however, under Callum Davidson they are well organised, physical, direct and very tough to beat, our trip to Perth didn’t provide any real surprises.

Who scored the winner in Sunday's first Old Firm of 2021/22?

It was noticeable how much they tried to slow the game down – no ball boys for example – and tried to influence the referee, with the worst incident coming after Kemar Roofe had brought Steven Gerrard’s side level from the penalty spot, in short, they have almost turned into Steve Clarke’s Kilmarnock, just be grateful that they don’t have a plastic pitch too.

Thankfully, Willie Collum, for once, didn’t fall for Liam Craig’s histrionics or Shaun Rooney’s pathetic attempts to get Alfredo Morelos sent off with Rangers fans on social media calling out their embarrassing behaviour.

It was no surprise to see Craig scuttling away when the cards were getting dished out, perhaps he realised just how embarrassing his behaviour had been, as with Rooney, we all know his allegiances and seeing him crying to Collum was just as bad – it makes the three points all the sweeter.
