Rangers got their competitive season off to a flying start last night as they hammered Gibraltarian side St Joseph’s 4-0 in what was a commanding performance.
Games like that you can only really lose out on unless you batter the opponents and, really, that is what the Gers did.
Indeed, some of the new signings impressed greatly and it appears as though Steven Gerrard is not done just yet in terms of the transfer market.
Quoted by the Express after the match yesterday evening, he had this to say about a new arrival potentially on the way shortly:
“It will be a permanent signing. There is still a way to go but we have had some progress in the last couple of days.
“If things progress as they have in the last 48 hours, I’m hoping something will be done by the end of the week.”
Exciting times, then, and it looks as though a new face is going to be on the way before the week is out.
Who that is going to be remains to be seen and the rumour mill is bound to throw several names out whilst we wait but it is good to see that we are not done yet in the market.
