Rangers look set to “miss-out” on transfer target Florian Kamberi with the Hibernian forward reportedly the subject of a bid from Swiss side St Gallen, according to The Scottish Sun.

Since football was called to a halt by the Covid-19 pandemic in March there has been much speculation about the striker’s next destination having left Easter Road to join Rangers with – seemingly – little intent of returning.

Although impressing as an impact player in his time at Ibrox, there has remained a doubt as to whether or not he has the quality required to help bridge the gap at the top of the table and despite reports claiming that he was available for a knockdown price, it appears as though Steven Gerrard is looking elsewhere.

Had the Rangers gaffer been convinced by Kamberi there is little doubt that a deal would already have been agreed as he looks to fine tune a squad capable of matching their bitter city rivals, not only in one-off fixtures, but over the course of a season.

From which club did Rangers sign Brian Laudrup?

The Gers continue to be linked with alternate options in attack ranging from Lyndon Dykes at Livingston to Kemar Roofe at Anderlecht, with much of the speculation surrounding whether or not they are targeted as a replacement or addition to Alfredo Morelos – who his boss hopes will be leading the Light Blues front line when the season kicks off.

One thing is clear, Rangers need additional firepower in the starting XI and in support of Morelos, with the transfer window now open, fans of the Ibrox club can expect an almost daily guessing game of who will be next up the marble staircase to sign for Gerrard’s side.
