As per the Herald, Ross McCrorie has joined English League One club Portsmouth on a loan deal for the rest of the season.
The holding midfielder played in some of our biggest games last season and did well – it is clear that he could be a big player for us.
We’ve taken the step, though, to let him go out to Pompey to get experience and I just hope that we get to see him playing often at Fratton Park.
Indeed, a player of his potential that was beginning to show what he could do for us needs to be playing.
I’m sure Steven Gerrard and co. would have sought assurances he would play before sanctioning the deal, then, but it is perhaps still a little sour to the taste for us as I think he could have done a job this season coming.
Let’s just see what unfolds with him then.
