Rangers Academy progressed to the next round of the UEFA Youth League after a 2-1 victory away to Slovan Bratislava as reported in The Scottish Sun.
The Rangers “young team” were already ahead 2-0 on aggregate after a comfortable victory in the first-leg but fell behind just after the half-hour mark, however, the lead didn’t last long as Nathan Young-Coombes struck on the stroke of half-time to give the Gers a vital away goal which left Bratislava needing to score three goals to secure victory.
Young-Coombes, who signed from Chelsea last season, struck again on 53 minutes to put the tie beyond doubt and to give Graeme Murty another fine victory as the academy’s head coach.
Which of these academy players are most likely to make the first team?
Nathan Young-Coombes
Kai Kennedy
Nathan Patterson
Dapo Mebude
Murty has overseen victories in both the UEFA Youth League and the Challenge Cup this season and Rangers fans have really taken notice of the youngsters’ exceptional season so far, they took to Twitter to congratulate them and share in their success.

The academy team will now play a one-off home tie against one of the runners-up from the UEFA Youth Champions League to decide who progresses to the last 16 with the eight group winners. And you thought the Nations League was complicated!
