I’m not normally one for gossip, however….
If you had a job that you enjoyed doing, with work-mates that you got on with and a boss you respected, you’d probably be quite happy with yourself, maybe buy a house in the area and settle down, right?
Well, footballers are no different, yes they have a slightly more transient lifestyle than most professions, other than maybe the military, but still, they are human after all.
Which brings me to my point, Ryan Kent and his girlfriend, Kirsty Spence, appear to be putting down roots in the Glasgow area with rumours that they have not only bought a house but that the winger’s horses are also going to be arriving in Scotland, not the sort of thing you would normally do if you were only going to be sticking around for another year.
So, what does this mean?
In reality, very little, Leeds United – or another interested club – could offer £20million and we’d struggle to turn it down, the player himself would also be daft to reject a deal that could potentially double, or treble his weekly wage but, what it doesn’t mean though, is that there is a very real chance of him extending his contract and that he wants to stay at Rangers.
Unfortunately, this is the sort of information that will always see two and two being put together and a conclusion being reached but, for once, this one at least looks like it will have a happy ending.
