The good news keeps coming for Rangers fans after Steven Gerrard gave an update on the fitness of the two Ryans, Kent and Jack, and ,for a change, it was nothing but positive.

Kent will travel to face Brondby, a place in the starting XI is highly unlikely but his return automatically improves the quality of our attack and squad as a whole, the prospect of seeing him and Fashion Sakala together adds serious pace to our forward line.

The Gers gaffer revealed that this isn’t the only good news ahead of an important week of fixtures:

“Ryan Kent trained with the group yesterday, he will travel with us.

“Ryan Jack is training away, he will have an outside chance of being involved at the weekend, depending on how this game goes but Ryan has been back in full training for a couple of weeks now.

“I think the international break is super-important for Ryan in terms of getting a load of work in big spaces in his legs and maybe trying to get a game behind closed doors for him to get some minutes under his belt because he has obviously been out for a long time.”

If we can get through this week with two wins with Kent and Jack back in contention, it will be a huge boost for Gerrard and Rangers fans in general, especially when we are on an improved run of performances – we just need to cut out the stupid goals being conceded.

It’s encouraging that Jack has been in full training for a couple of weeks and hasn’t suffered any setbacks, match fitness, obviously, being his next priority – competition for places has never been so tough with Filip Helander left as the only key player on the sidelines, there are no longer any excuses for not hitting top form.
