Had Rangers ended the season without any silverware to show for their efforts it would have been a travesty, top of the Scottish Premiership for over 20 weeks, a lead of six-points coming into the new year, as well as making the two major cup finals.

Obviously, most fans would rank the Scottish Cup in third place in terms of priority, however, the way it was won and the build up means that it is something that should be celebrated and, when you look at the players who, for most of them, it was their first cup win, nobody could blame them for getting carried away.

One man in particular who deserved to let his hair down is Ryan Jack, coming on as a substitute to fire home a spectacular opening goal which all but ended Hearts challenge and, by the looks of it on social media, this is exactly what he did.

The Instagram post by Alex Lowry’s girlfriend shows a clearly focussed Jack enjoying himself, pint in one hand, dancing away to his heart’s content, and who can blame him? At one point there would have been doubts over his ability to return to competitive action at all never mind getting back to playing at the same level, there is almost a poetry to the fact that this time last year he would be lying on the surgeon’s table for a seven hour operation to his spine to correct a persistent issue that was hampering his career.

A few games for Scotland, then a holiday should see him in perfect shape for pre-season when he will come back as one of Giovanni van Bronkhorst’s first names on the team-sheet, with footwork like this, it’s easy to see why.
