NERLINGER RETIRES
Former Rangers midfielder Christian Nerlinger has retired from football at the age of 32.
Nerlinger who has also played for Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and Kaiserslautern made the decision Wednesday after failing to recover from two operations in his foot.
Nerlinger made six appearances for Germany and scored one goal.
His time at Ibrox was hampered by injury and he will probably be best remembered for scoring against Stuttgart in 2-1 Champions League win at Ibrox a couple of seasons ago.
RANGERS BAN SMOKING AT IBROX
Rangers have announced a blanket ban on smoking at Ibrox which takes effect from March 26th 2006, the same day that smoking is banned in pubs etc in Scotland.
Glasgow’s two other big stadiums, Celtic Park and Hampden Park will also be banning smoking and stadiums across the country are set to follow suit.
