Blues must pay hard cash for Pete

Birmingham City have been told they will have to pay big money if they want to bring Peter Lovenkrands from Rangers in the January transfer window.

The in form forward is at the top of Steve Bruce’s wanted list and although he could get him for free in the summer it is thought that he wants the Dane ASAP to boost his side’s relegation battle.

It is thought that Rangers want about £1 million for the player as they are reluctant to let him go because of the big game against Villarreal coming up in a few weeks.

Lovenkrand’s contract runs out in the summer and is free to negotiate a bosman with any club, whether he goes now on in the summer, what is for sure is he WILL leave and see’s his future away from Glasgow.

Pistol Pete is still upset after Rangers tried to offload him to Middlesbrough in the summer and he also claimed recently that he has been attacked TWICE in the city by Celtic fans.

Rodriguez recovers from injury, Fanfan could be off

Rangers defender Julien Rodriguez has gave his manager Alex McLeish a welcome boost after he returned to training after a 10 week injury lay-off.

The big defender picked up an injury in the CIS Insurance League Cup quarter-final defeat to Celtic back in November but is now ready to come back and fight for a place in the back four.

He will have to win his place back from either Marvin Andrews or Soti Kyrgiakos. Rod had a shaky start to his Ibrox career but he was just coming good when he picked up the injury.

Meanwhile, fellow defender Jean Pierre-Fanfan could go back to France on loan in a bid to prove that he deserves a regular place in the Rangers side.

The ex Paris SG captain has only made seven SPL appearances this season since his high profile summer move.
