Rangers v Ross County – Yilmaz starts as Gio makes two changes, predicted XI

Rangers recovered from a disappointing weekend in a more than spectacular fashion by seeing off PSV Eindhoven to qualify for the Champions League group stages, however, that will be long forgotten come kick-off against Ross County at Ibrox today.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst gave a squad update as part of the pre-match presser and, unfortunately, Glen Kamara has been added to the list with a knee complaint, hopefully it is nothing sinister because he was exceptional in the Netherlands, he will more than play his part when we face Liverpool, Ajax and Napoli.

Despite being a stand out in midweek, he probably wouldn’t have started this fixture anyway given how opposition teams usually set up and this is what I expect the manager to go with:

Gio spoke about going with a strong team and that the players who played on Wednesday want to go again, with Queen of the South next on the fixture list, there is a perfect chance to rotate next week. We need to keep the momentum going and put aside the last 30 minutes at Easter Road.

I’d like to see Ridvan Yilmaz start with the rest of the defence looking more reliable now, I’d also go with a more attacking midfield with Scott Arfield starting instead of Ryan Jack or Steven Davis, however, I’d be happy if the latter plays due to his ability to find space.

Three points is obviously a must but a good performance would also provide a lift, controlling games is one thing, however, it would be nice to see the scoreboard tick over a little earlier.
