Rangers midfielder Ryan Jack is a doubt for Thursday’s clash with Slovenian side Maribor after being treated at a hospital in the wake of Sunday’s draw against Aberdeen.

Dons striker Stevie May went in heavy on the in-form midfielder, who was subsequently stretchered out of the stadium and onto an ambulance, as reported by The Daily Record.

Initially he was treated on the Gers bench by medical staff but that fact he required further attention isn’t great for his chances of playing this week.

It’s thought he has injured his neck or head, given the way the forward collided with the 26-year-old.

With the first leg against Maribor just days away, it’s a bitter blow to Steven Gerrard’s first team, especially since the hard-working midfielder has been sensational in the early parts of the season.

The manager singled him out for huge praise last Thursday night for his performance against Croatian outfit NK Osijek and he was the best player on the pitch yesterday before his collision with May.

It’ll be hard enough to get past the Slovenian side, but without Jack that task becomes harder.

Here’s hoping his injury isn’t as serious as the situation suggests and he makes a full recovery as soon as possible.
