Rangers’ Scottish Championship season continued with a defeat against Livingston at the Almondvale Stadium on Tuesday.

The end of season slump, which basically is what it is, Rangers are on continued with a one-nil defeat at struggling Livingston.

Fortunately the title is already long secured! This was only our fifth defeat of the season too so needs to be put into context.

Two sides who could both end up going out of the Championship (obviously the Gers as Champions with Livingston relegated, as they need to come through a play-off to avoid this) meet with this latest loss meaning we’ve taken just a point from the last three-matches since securing our place in the Scottish Cup final after the semi-final win over Celtic.

It wasn’t as if Rangers were short of efforts through with Andy Halliday, Gedion Zelalem and Michael O’Halloran all having (and not taking) chances to put us ahead against the strugglers who only had 17 fit first-team players to call upon!

Livingston had the best chance though with Zelalem losing position allowing Danny Mullen to run through, with him away and clear he couldn’t hit the target with Sam Stanton then having a chance to do this too, putting his effort just wide.

The lead came in first half injury-time when former Rangers defender Craig Halkett looped a header beyond Wes Foderingham finishing off a cross from 16-year old Matthew Knox, who is training with us at the moment and attracting Premier League interest from Chelsea, Everton, Manchester United and Tottenham according to reports.

It was a goal not only to put the side second from bottom ahead but ultimately to give them a morale boosting win to take into the relegation/promotion play-off with Liam Buchanan heading over from six-yards when he should have added a second.

Who was the Gers MotM in this game?

That’s what the latest poll is asking so do cast a vote.
