Rangers return for 6’3 Championship centre-half, ‘contact made’

It has been reported that Rangers have made contact with Bournemouth for their 6’3 centre-half, Jack Simpson.

Rangers have today made contact with Bournemouth over potential moves for defender Jack Simpson and Nnamdi Ofoborh.

Steven Gerrard has been a long time admirer of Simpson, who is out of contract in the summer.

Rangers boss Gerrard is said to be a keen admirer of the player who has made nine league appearances for the Cherries this season. He also played full games in two EFL and one FA Cup ties, respectively. 

The player was previously linked with a move to Ibrox back in 2019, as reported by the Daily Record.

“The defender was wanted by Steven Gerrard in the summer but has ended all talk of a future move.”

“Rangers boss Steven Gerrard targeted him as a potential signing in the summer but ended up bringing in Joe Worrall from Nottingham Forest instead.”

Now it appears the interest has been rekindled, alongwith an approach for his team-mate Nnamdi Ofoborh.
