Rangers’ reported quest to sign £3.15m talent takes new twist

|

Rangers will have to battle giants Fenerbahce if Norwich City defender Timm Klose is to arrive at Ibrox this summer, as reported by Turkish outlet Hurriyet.

The Gers were linked with a move for the Swiss international at the weekend, with Football Scotland saying Steven Gerrard is keen on bringing him to Glasgow upon the expiration of his contract at English Championship high-flyers Norwich City.

Hurriyet report though that Fenerbahce are also keen, looking to utilise Director of Football Damien Comolli’s links with Klose’s agent Gaetano Giallanza.

Klose has a market value of £3.15m according to Transfermarkt, making 33 appearances in all competitions for the Canaries this season, helping them to automatic promotion from the English second tier to the Premier League.

With Joe Worrall heading back to parent club Nottingham Forest and Gareth McAuley’s deal set to expire, we do need another quality defensive option this summer to compete with Nikola Katic and Connor Goldson.

Klose appears to tick all the boxes and hopefully our recruitment team can pull something special out of the bag here.

With clubs like Fenerbahce likely willing to offer him decent money though, the deal could be tough to get over the line.
