If Rangers want to sign Petar Ratkov, they will have to pay somewhere over the £2million mark if a recent statement from TSC Backa Topola’s president is to be believed.

The 19-year old striker has been mooted as a possible target for the summer and the 6ft 4inch Serbian youth international is starting to show the type of form that suggests his career is very much on an upwards trajectory.

Ratkov is making a habit of scoring against some decent teams and as the @SerbFootyScout Twitter page says, Anderlecht will no doubt be regretting not finalising a deal in January before his exploits became more widely recognised.

Not only is his finishing improving, so too is his link up play as this next clip shows when he splits the defence with a perfectly waited through ball off his weaker foot.

When Rangers plucked Alfredo Morelos from relative obscurity in Finland, little was known about what sort of impact the Colombian would make and it could well be that Ratkov is the next promising youngster who will be tasked with carrying the weight of goal scoring expectations in the famous Light Blue shirt – at least we don’t have to worry about the shirt being too big for him, he’s massive.
