Rangers are considering making a move for NK Osijek left-back Borna Barisic this summer, apparently impressed by his ability during the recent UEFA Europa League qualifying tie between the two sides.

That’s according to The Express, who report that the player could be available for around £2m, putting him well within reach of the Gers.

The defender was undoubtedly the biggest performer for his team against Steven Gerrard’s side over the two legs, even scoring at Ibrox on Thursday night when his shot was deflected into the back of the net.

The 25-year-old has won caps for World Cup finalists Croatia, the most recent of which came just before the tournament in Russia, part of the provisional 32-man squad that was eventually cut down to 23.

With excellent work rate, a love for big tackles, the pace to support attacking teammates and an accurate cross, he appears to tick plenty of boxes that would make him a big hit in Glasgow.

Rangers fans have also taken notice of his ability, with many calling for the club to take a look at him after his performances over the last couple of weeks.

We published a poll last week after the first leg in Croatia, asking whether Rangers should make a move for him and the results were clear, with 84% of respondents believing it would be a good bit of business.

Hopefully now we can see the club do the business necessary to bring him to Scotland.
