In the current international window, four first team figures are away from the club representing their respective nations on international duty – Ryan Jack, Borna Barisic, Glen Kamara and Fashion Sakala.

The wee Zambian has already made his mark with a stunning strike tonight in Ndola, pouncing to make in 1-1 before Zambia eventually beat Lesotho 3-1.

Also on Thursday, Glen Kamara is very likely to feature for the Finns in Denmark before they head to Belfast on Sunday.

The downtime for the squad overall means rest and recuperation for most for a few days before returning back to base next week whilst the quartet above will be doing their bit on the international scene.

Jack – Scotland

Saturday 25 March – Scotland v Cyprus – 1400

Tuesday 28 March – Scotland v Spain – 1945

Barisic – Croatia

Saturday 25 March – Croatia v Wales – 1945

Tuesday 28 September – Turkey v Croatia – 1945

Kamara – Finland

Thursday 23 September – Denmark v Finland – 1945

Sunday 26 March – Northern Ireland v Finland – 1945

Sakala – Zambia

Thursday 23 March – Zambia v Lesotho – 1600

Sunday 26 September – Lesotho v Zambia – 1400

Dundee United at Ibrox, nine days from now, seems quite a bit away and it is. First of all the international window needs to pass with the Rangers players hopefully returning with a clean bill of health.

Some fans will tune in to their country’s games whilst many will be totally indifferent to the Tartan Army and international football altogether, regardless of where they are from.

There at least be an interest and curiosity in how the Ibrox men fare over the next week or so before the ‘real’ action returns.
