Glen Kamara’s move to Rangers is moving closer to completion, according to The Evening Telegraph.

The Finnish international was not included in Dundee’s matchday squad during their Scottish Cup clash with Queen of the South, with the paper reporting that talks are ongoing about an imminent switch to Ibrox.

Kamara has already signed a pre-contract at the club but is now expected to move to Glasgow six months earlier than initially anticipated.

Dundee boss Jim McIntyre admitted this week that it is the preferred outcome for everyone, telling BBC Scotland: “I know Glen would rather move on and I think it is best for all parties. It is difficult for a player to focus on the job in hand when he knows he is going somewhere else.”

That’s in contrast to Jordan Jones, whose pre-contract signature was announced at the same time as Kamara. The Kilmarnock winger has confirmed he won’t move to Rangers until the summer and was in action today for the Ayrshire club in their win against Forfar.

The smart money would now be on Kamara joining up sometime next week. His arrival will allow him to get used to life at Ibrox and Auchenhowie over the next few months before pushing for a first-team place come the summer.
