Rangers are on the brink of signing winger Eros Grezda after the Albanian international completed a medical last night, as reported by The Scottish Sun.

The paper say that the Gers activated the player’s £1.8m release clause yesterday and that he is set to be unveiled as the club’s 13th summer signing later today.

There’s one final bit of negotiating to do though, say The Scottish Sun, with the clubs set to thrash out a sell-on clause which would guarantee Croatian side Osijek as much as 20% in a sell on fee.

With Jamie Murphy being ruled out for the rest of the season due to an ACL injury, an attacking signing was needed in the final few days of the transfer window and Mark Allen has delivered again this summer.

Scoring seven goals and creating three assists last term in Croatian football, Grezda would appear to be an exciting talent who has plenty of potential at 23 years of age.

The player did not appear against Rangers in the recent UEFA Europa League qualifying tie, having been ruled out with injury.

The club have already signed well from Osijek this summer, securing Borna Barisic on the left flank, who looks to be a very clever bit of business.

Can his former teammate make a similar impact in Steven Gerrard’s squad?
