As quoted by the Daily Record, Steven Gerrard has said that Brandon Barker is on the brink of joining our club on loan for the season now.
News broke yesterday that the Gers were looking at the Manchester City winger and it appears that we are on the verge of getting him now as he is having a medical.
Indeed, Gerrard simply said ‘it’s close’ when asked about the deal and now we surely just have to wait for the official announcement.
As far as I am aware he has no injury record from his time at City and so passing the medical should be a formality.
That’ll make him signing number nine for the transfer window and it just remains to be seen in the final weeks if we are going to get anyone else in before the market shuts for business at the start of September.
Certainly, though, this could be an exciting arrival with his age in mind.
